Please feel free to rest awhile,
cast aside the turbulence of the day,
open your mind and
allow your imagination to grow.
"Don't dare to be different, dare to be yourself.
If that doesn't make you different then something is wrong."
~ Laura Baker ~
“Mark ye well their manner, for it is quiet and assumeth not.
It is in peaceful tones they speak and oft seem abstracted.
Seeming to prefer the company of Beastes,
they converse with them as equals.
They dwell in lonely places, there better (as they say)
to know the voices of the Wind and hear the secrets of Nature.
Possessing the Wysdome of the fields and forests,
they do harm and heal with their harvests.
They concerne themselves not with idle chatter or fashion,
nor do worldly goods hold worth for them.
Be not confused as to think that only Woman-kynd
harboureth the gifte in this matter.
Of Men there be many that hold mickle (much) power."
Edward Johnston, Suffold, England 1645.
The Guardians
This was ever the way of life
Til the breaking of the dream:
Nature, man and creature kind
In mutual esteem.
Then many broke the circle
For new paths of their own:
Now the true ways, the old ways,
Are lost and overgrown.
Concrete thinking rules the world
As concrete covers grass:
A world that no longer knows the laws
Of Earth has come to pass.
But we, her guardians, quietly wait
Knowing the time must come
When, tired of nightmare, men return
To the rhythm of the drum.
Back to the circle they will draw,
Eager for life and peace;
Wise and strong, we shall all belong,
And the dream will never cease.

Today, give a stranger one of your smiles.
It might be the only sunshine he sees all day.
